History of EMRA

Entrance

This is the Eleven Mile Ranch Association sign in Lake George, Colorado

This entrance gets you into the gated community of EMRA which consists of approximately

70+ homes and cabins.  Some are full-time residences and others are summer places only.

This subdivision is subject to Rules and Regulations as a Homeowners Association.

My father, E. Lyle Johnson, my Grandfather, E. G. Johnson and Cecil Stanfield, grandfather of Davy Lampman, together, all 3, bought the Eleven Mile Ranch in 1954.  I’m afraid I don’t know any of the history prior to then but I think it was purchased from Don Stephens, the prior developer, directly or out of foreclosure.  I assume that EMRA was founded shortly thereafter.  Thank you.  Everett Johnson

Lyle Johnson had a vision to create a community for recreation, fishing and enjoyment; and

Lyle Johnson continued to foster, develop and expand the community until his death.

Lyle More research will be done at the historical society in Fairplay and pictures will be added at that time.
